We created this Lego mosaic of Snoopy sleeping on his doghouse for a young friend of ours who loves both Snoopy and Legos.
Process
Starting with a good clear image I simply resized the image to be 64 pixels wide which would fit onto a two baseplate-wide size. That gave us a 20″ x 24″ finished product.
After that it was just a matter of zooming into the image to see the pixels and then using LDraw to render out the individual Lego bricks needed to make the image.
Using an image rendered from LDraw as a pattern my son and I put Snoopy together just like this:
After assembly I simply glued the baseplates onto a board so that it could be mounted on the wall.
Conclusion
This was a fun small Lego mosaic to make. The most fun though was the reaction of the young man who received it.
